Townships

Oronoco

Oronoco is the first city that will be featured in a series of township studies that the History Center of Olmsted County has embarked on. An early settler by the name of Dr. Hector Galloway named the little town along the Zumbro River. Oronoco was founded in 1854, and is home to the downtown, popular Gold Rush Days, held every 3rd weekend in August since 1972. Stop in the History Center to read & learn more about Oronoco and our rotating township exhibits.
