The OCGS is an auxiliary organization working in partnership with the History Center of Olmsted County to provide resources, education, and meaningful programs to its members. Each month our meetings include a speaker with topics that bring insight into records utilized by genealogist, both seasoned and new.
Meetings
The group meets at the History Center at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, except December, June, July and August. Doors open at 6 p.m. for members to visit, get help or use the research center. Visitors are always welcome.
Membership
Annual dues are $10 per household and are due in September. Membership includes the OCGS newsletter, published four times a year. Make checks payable to and mail to: Olmsted County Genealogical Society, PO Box 6411, Rochester, MN 55903. If you wish to receive a membership card, please include a SASE.
Query Policy
Newsletter queries are free to members. A $2.00 charge will be made for queries by nonmembers. Queries are limited to 50 words in length.
Board Meetings
Board meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday in January, April, July and October. The meetings are held at the History Center of Olmsted County. Input from members is always welcome.
