Summer Camp 2026: "A Step Back in Time"

Monday, July 20th - Friday, July 24th

The History Center Summer Camp is an interactive educational day camp designed to introduce students to everyday life in the 19th century through hands-on learning experiences. All activities are led by experienced staff in a safe, supportive environment.

Daily program includes:

  • 1800s farmstead chores (e.g. grinding corn to feed the chickens, churning butter)
  • A lesson in a one-room schoolhouse
  • Fun arts and crafts projects

Special themed activities on select days include:

  • Food on the farmstead (learning about vegetable gardens & caves, making sauerkraut)
  • Life in a one-room schoolhouse (short lessons from the 1880s followed by an art project)
  • Living in the 1870s (life in a log cabin)
  • History detective (scavenger hunt & exploration of artifacts)
  • Art and entertainment (games and art projects from the late 1800s)
  • Getting hands dirty with gardening
  • 1860s Baseball

Schedule

  • Ages 6–10: 9:30 am – 11:30 am
  • Daily Fee (per student)

  • $12 for members
  • $15 for non-members
  • Full Week Fee (per student)

  • $50 for members
  • $65 for non-members

Parents feel free to roam our museum hall and archives while your child is enjoying the camp.
